My recently purchased iPod Shuffle 3 isn't working. It takes charge, and I am able to get music onto it, but the second I eject it and unplug it, it stops working. When I try to turn it on, the status light doesn't turn on, and no sound comes out. Can someone help? Thanks!

How to Fix an iPod Shuffle That Won't Turn On

Unfortunately, the Shuffle 3 is on Apple's Obsolete list.
Apple Vintage and Obsolete Products

This normally means that they will neither repair the unit nor replace the battery. You might inquire if they will test and reset it for you (you have your music backed up, right?).

Assuming that the battery is the problem, there are people who can do the work.

I have a 3rd gen Shuffle as well. Worked perfectly until I washed it by accident. Now it does the same thing yours is doing. I can restore it, and sometimes it will let me move songs, then heats up and glitches again. Sometimes Windows even sees it properly, then it heats up again… RIP lil’ Shuffle (it looks brand new)
