iPod Ipod Shuffle Earphone Question

Is the new Ipod Shuffle compatiable with third party earphones?

I have a pair of SkullCandy Full Metal Jackets that I love but was wonder if they can be used with the newest shuffle.

well yeh you can plug whatever headphones you want into it, but you need the remote on the headphones to operate the ipod becuase of the lack of buttons on the device....technically it will work but you wont be able to play, pause, stop, fast forward, rewind, volume up or down without the remote lol

This is EXACTLY why I won't be buying a shuffle again- I can't wear Apple's ear buds! NOt a good design if you ask me.

Do they make a short remote connector?

Unfortunately not, luckily for me the Apple headphone fit in ear without any problems and personally i really like them....
Apple really do need to sort this one though!!
