Hey all

Here's an odd one.

I have an iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation (1GB). I haven't used it for a while, and plugged it into my Macbook to charge an update to 1.0.4. No problems in that.

Then, I plugged it into the back of my iMac (I have a special USB connecter not the corded one). It instantly kills the iMac. The machine does not even have time to think about it. The screen goes black and all activity dies. The power button the back of the machine also does nothing, despite holding it for 10 seconds. To restart the machine I have to pull the power out of the back.

What on earth is causing this?

Cheers

By "special" connector is it a 3rd party one? If so that may be your problem. Even though most store bought 3rd party adapters work fine Ive seen some bad stuff happen from off brand ones before. Could you post a pic of the adapter?
