iPod iPod Shuffle shortage

Hi guys.

For several reasons I've been going to some electronic stores over the past week. Since I might be interested in buying an iPod Shuffle to put music on to go running, I asked the first store if they had any and it turned out they didn't. What's more is they told me they won't be getting any others. So I asked in the other stores as well and none of them (well, I only went to 4 but still..) had any left. They did have touches and nanos but I didn't see any classics either except for in one store.

I know I can just order it online but the shortage has got me thinking that maybe they're getting upgraded in the recent future? (in which case I'll wait for the new model)
Or perhaps they'll be discontinued... In which case I'll buy one now.

I live in Belgium BTW.
 
Yeah but the point was that they're out and they won't be getting any others. At least that's what the salespeople told me.

Well, I am interested in buying shuffle too, but since I currently have the previous one I will wait if a new one comes out this year and if not I will buy the current one.

And I don't think that the fact that they're out has something to do with new generation, because they don't know either if it is going to be updated.

Neither of those. I've been to Mediamarkt, vandenborre, and 2 local electronic stores. I know that they're still around, like I could go to FNAC tomorrow and they will surely still have more. But it just struck me as weird that they didn't have any and were like "maar die komen ook niet meer binnen zenne".

are you searching for the latest ipod shuffle?
 
New iPods are released around Sept, it would be weird if a new shuffle would be shown before all the other iPods. I believe the shortness is due to it being an item that not many people buy. Did you go to an Apple Store or a reseller? Maybe try the official store.
