I have a Mac Mini, running OS 10.5.7, and I have a newer Mac keyboard (white keys, aluminum with USB connection)
I'm having a problem that is driving me absoLUTley insane:
When I connect my new iPod shuffle, the keyboard and mouse stop working. They just freeze up. When I disconnect the iPod, and then reconnect the keyboard, the keyboard works again.
But when I reconnect the iPod...again, the same thing happens.
The rest of the computer works fine. Videos that are open keep going, etc.
I contacted apple, and suspecting that it was the iPod =, then sent me a replacement. But the newer iPod started doing the same friggin' thing after a few normal uses.
Other details: I have an old iPod Shuffle (1st generation) that still works just fine. Whenever I use it with the new keyboard, none of this kind of thing happens.
And when I use a mac keyboard from an old G4, everything works, including the iPod.
And a previous iPod (2nd generation Shuffle) worked just fine with the new keyboard.
Resetting the iPod with the reset software does not help.
That makes me think that there is something about a recent iPod software update that is causing this problem. Some kind of conflict with the keyboard preferences or drivers or something?
