iPod iPod shuffle's voice

Greetings, i've been using a Windows PC to sync my Apple devices for god knows how long. Last week I bit the bullet and picked up a mid 2011 Mac mini. I have everything all set up now and I went through the painful process of having all my data erased on my iOS devices just so they are synced to my Mac mini.

I went to exercise with my iPod shuffle and I was horrified to hear a man's voice coming out of it.

I don't see any place in iTunes to change the VoiceOver voice on the shuffle other than change the language. Is there anyway I can get the old female voice I've been used to? Thanks.

When you sync with Mac OS 10.5 or higher you get "Alex" as the voice for the shuffle.

Why is it bad you have a male voice?

Because I liked the voice for the Windows version better. She sounded kinda like Siri. I want it back. =/

For those who find this thread:

I figured out that its impossible to get the Siri-like female voice from Windows but it is still possible to get a female voice.

On iTunes, connect your shuffle and change the voice over language to English (Australian) or English (British) to get a female VoiceOver on your iPod. I personally think the Australian version speaks better than the two.

I find it absolutely insanely stupid that Apple would do such a thing. Giving each operating system a different voice. Why not let us choose the voice we want? Either way. Such is Apple and us the users are left to dance around their rules to get what we want.
