iPod iPod Syncing

My laptop hard drive died and I got a new one and have restored from time machine. However, I had about 5 days where I hadn't backed up. There was nothing that I had really added of major importance, the only thing was adding a few songs to some playlists and maybe adding a couple new songs. However, my iPod had been updated. When I plug my iPod in will it update itunes to what the iPod has like when you have downloaded an app on the iPod and not through itunes? Or will it just sync and I'll loose what I had added to my playlists?

Anyone?
