I have an iPod touch 5g with iOS 8.3, it recently ran out of battery and when it turned on it was on recovery mode. But it was not the normal recovery i could not make it go away by going into DFU i really hope i do not have to Restore it using iTunes due that i would have to go to the un jailbroken 8.4.
I tried using the app RecBoot and it said unknown mode.

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

First. 8.4 is jailbreakable, so you don't need to fear losing the potential for a jailbreak.
Second, you might look into a PC program called TinyUmbrella. My understanding is that there is an option with that program to kick an iPhone out of recovery mode.

How do you jailbreak 8.4? I already tried and no luck but thanks anyway.

You use the latest version of TAIG. Other factors may cause it to fail, but not because 8.4 is not jailbreakable.

My iPhone 5 is on 8.3 and I jailbroke it with an older version of TAIG (before they included 8.4). Took me about six hours of continuously pushing the jailbreak button before it finally jailbroke my phone.
