so i just got my 8gb ipod touch about a week ago. for the first few days, i couldnt get it to log onto my homes wireless network. i tried everything; different dns numbers, ip addresses, copying info from my command prompt, etc and everytime i would open safari, it would say 'safari cannot open this page because it cannot find the server.' ugh.

but then i guess the stars aligned and something happened. i turned on my ipod a few days later and the internet worked! i basked in the glory of god while surfing the net and watching movies like donnie darko and fight club on youtube.

but last night i go to watch another movie and the internet stopped working again. =[ under settings, it says i am connected to linksys (the name of my houses wireless network). the signal strength next to the network name is strong, and on the top left of the ipod screen where it shows the wifi signal strength, all the bars are lit up. however when i open safari, i still get the 'cannot find server' bullcrap and sometimes i get a message saying 'the address is invalid.' the only thing that seems to be invalid is my ipods wifi capabilities :D

does anyone know what i could possibly try to get my wifi working again? i spent half the night trying out the things i did that originally got my internet working but all of them have failed. any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Restart Your Ipod!

I have had this problem and i tried restarting my ipod (ipod touch 8gb) by holding down the power and menu buttons until the apple logo appeared. When i tried safari it was working but i do not know how much longer it willl work

It's been five months. I don't think he cares anymore. Please look at timestamps before you post.
