As they're cheap in the refurb store (as low as $180 or so for the recent camera-less model), I'm considering picking up an iPod Touch to mess around with jailbreak software, and for a GBA/DS replacement for gaming.

I've got an Air, Mini, and iPhone 5S, but they're all used for iOS development, and because of that I need them stable and on the latest iOS. An iPod touch would be purely a "fun" device, and essentially just for games, occasionally music, and similar things.

Is the Touch (Likely 32GB 5th Gen) recommended for this kind of use? I know a refurb will ship with an older version of iOS 7, so it should be easily jailbroken. I've been out of the jailbreak scene since iOS 5, so I'm not all that familiar with what's available anymore. Is it worth it?

You never know with what ios version it will ship with.
You might get lucky or maybe not and then you wont be able to JB it.

Let's just assume I get it with a jailbreakable version of iOS. Is it a good option for what I want, or not so much?
