I have an iPod Touch 8gig 2nd Gen. I have APPLE BRANDED composite cables. When attempting to display video on a TV, all I get is audio, NO video on the TV, although video remains playing on the iPod.

Is there any reason for this? Any solution? I can't find any answers, only other people with this same issue. Component cables are not an option for me. Any ideas before I go tear open the sale person at the Apple Store that sold me this crap?

Edit: And for the love of god, yes, I have it set to NTSC, which is my TV's standard... just in case anyone was going to ask that...

Well, how sad is this? Did I wind up with old cables that don't have a chip, still made from Apple? Who knows.

I found a 'hint' on another website, pointing me to Resupported, an app on Cydia that is meant for those using non-apple video cables. I installed that and now I have video out. Way to go, Apple...

Hopefully this will help anyone else with the same issue. Get Resupported from Cydia and good luck.

It will only work through an actual dock. YOu have to have the device plugged into the dock and then the cables out of the back of the dock into the TV. The Video iPod, as far as I know is the only one that you can do it through the 3.5MM jack. I'm assuming the Nano and Classic are the same way as well. The iPod Touch 1-3rd Gen and all three iPhones require the dock.

I've already solved the issue. It has nothing to do with a dock, and the iPod Touch 2g 8gig does NOT use the 3.5mm jack for video output. As I stated, in my post and the topic, this was about an iPod Touch issue, not a Nano or Classic.

Hi all.

I am thinking of buying a new ipood having skin on it,
So could anyone here please suggest me some websites providing ipod skins?
