iPod iPod touch speaker broken

My iPod touch 2nd gen speaker just went out on me today. the sound is really muffled that is how i know it went on me. is their anything i can do, maybe like bring it to the apple store something. please someone reply. Thanks

There is no way they would repair a 2nd gen iPod touch unless it still has Applecare. Best thing for you to do is to keep it and use headphones instead of the speaker, or sell it on ebay as faulty and use part of the money to buy a new one.

I've done a speaker replacement on a 2nd gen iPod Touch before and it's kinda tough. Getting the screen off without making so that the rubber liner around it is damaged is kind of rare. My guess is that the apple store won't be equipped with the parts or tools to the work onsite especially for a device that old.
