guys,

i have an iPod touch and i want to be able to listen to things i record using VOICE MEMOS on my iPod. previously i was using my iPhone for this function because it has a built-in microphone. But i accumulated so many memos that it takes up so much memory on my iphone, so i need to get this stuff on my iPod.

long story longer -- i'm looking for a good microphone that i can use with my iPod touch, (since there is no built in mic, i'll have to buy one)... can you guys recommend one?

it doesn't need to be expensive. i'd like to stay South of 100$. i just want something that will record ideas, etc. and that i can listen to back on my iPod in the car, etc.

thank you!

The mic in the Apple earphones may be just dandy, but I wanted to be able to use my ipod for conducting interviews and recording sound bites for use on broadcast radio. I recently purchased a MityMic:

And my testing so far has shown this to work quite nicely. I've only tested it with the recording app that came in my new ipod, and will probably investigate other more feature filled recording apps soon.

I have also seen the Blue Mikey microphone do some amazing things musically, so for those looking for a higher end mic, this might fit the bill.

I ordered the smalltalk for $17 + $2 shipping from newegg. Almost got touchmic but it was $17 + $4 shipping. Thanks for both posts was really hard trying to locate a mic for ipod touch 2G with a line out and not headphones.

I'm going to try to use this hooked up to external ipod speakers for remote Karaoke (mp3 cdg files). Not sure if it'll work or be a bomb.
