iPod Ipod trouble (earphone)

I connect my ipod to my car stereo system, while it was playing I happen to touch something on the amplifier. from them it plays throught the RCA jacks to the stereo but stops playing through any other earphones. It gives a loud cracky sound through all other headphones except the heavy duty RCA headphone to RCA jack. I have restored and reset it but it still sounds the same way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is an IPOD CLASSIC 80 GB.
