my m8s just got back from the states and brought himself an ipod. now his is a lot louder than my uk one ??? has anyone else come across this and if so is there a way for getting a higher volume from the uk model ?

Re: ipod usa Vs uk

The US iPod are indeed louder, this is because the iPod was capable of producing volumes too loud for EU regulations, I think it was software version 2.2 or something that lowered the volumes on Eu iPods.

if i remember correctly, france is to thank for this, it exceeded their regulations for volume... but not any other country's. still, they changed the european model to all be france's standard, probably because international inventory is less defined over there...
