All the talk about the cancellation of the iPod Classic got me to dig out the carcass of my old iPod Video. I'm thinking now of trying to revive it, but have a question:

Is the logic board of a 5g the same as the 5.5g? Are they interchangeable?

Thanks...
JR

Yes, if you were to buy a 5.5g logic board off of eBay or something you could replace it with the logic board of your 5g and everything would work fine. Also, if you are actually gonna upgrade the logic board, I highly recommend upgrading your hard drive to a flash based one. Go to tarkan.info (not .com, .info) and buy the iflash bundle which will allow you to use any SD card in your iPod as the hard drive. I just bumped my 30GB video up to 64GB and I am eventually looking to go to 256GB when I can afford the SD card.
