Which one of the above stated should i get? What actually are the pros and cons for all of them? What can the other device do that the other one can't? Which one's a better buy? Which one would u get if you have the cash?

The nintendo DS becouse you will forget the rest if youre gonna play "Advance Wars Dual Strike".

Seriously the NDS is as innovative as Apple! Thats why I love 'm both!:)

Depends on your priorities, of course. They all have their strong points. I have two iPods and a PSP, and have my eye on the DS as well. If only I could justify two portable consoles.

What the hell, the things you listed have nothing in common. Do you want an MP3 player? Get an iPod. Do you want to play games? Get a PSP or DS. What is the point of this?

Seconded, Advance Wars is the best game ever for a portable. If you've got the money to buy one of these get the DS and the money you'll save could be used for a Nano or something. (I hate the PSP though, really don't like playing them).

What is the point of this post? Sometimes the arrogance of this forum is really a downer. If you don't like a thread, then don't post.

They all play mp3's I think, they all play games and at least 2 of the 3 play video, but they do each at varying degrees of effectiveness. I think it is a perfectly legitamate question.

Me, I rarely play games, so the choice is simple: iPod.

If games are important to you, then the choice is between PSP and DS. Then it comes down to other details. I think the DS is 802.11 compatable, whereas the PSP is not. And other things like that. I don't have either, so I can't really say which one is for you.

Mario Kart DS goes online next week. I just want a iPod w/video with 4-5 hours of video battery life and I'm sold on it for my next iPod.

- Advance Wars: Dual Strike
- Trauma Center
- Phoenix Wright
- Electroplankton

I love my Nintendo DS. I'd vote for it over the PSP. Even with it's video, music and web browsing features (to correct one poster above, the PSP does have 802.11 wireless). I think the DS's library of games is vastly better than the PSP's. If you get both the iPod and the DS you get the best of both worlds! :D

Of course, if you can't afford that, and absolutely need video and web browsing, then I guess you could go and get the PSP. It's a cool device, no denying that.

I've always heard the PSP is better.. id have to agree. I own a PSP and I just dont use it its too bulky to bring to school so it usually just sits here doing nothing.. I also own the Ipod.... I love it. its perfect in my pocket all day but if your getting the Ipod video to watch movies dont.! its not the best movie player.

That being said Id go with the Ipod.. my PSP might be going over to ebay soon...

If it was me and I already had a nano I would buy a PSP because I would like a bit of portable video capability. Internet surfing is an added plus I dont really play games much the only game system ive ever got was an N64 and I had two games for that. But if I did get it for games I would go for the PSP better graphics bigger screen and better games which I like better socom and gta.

I'll agree on the DS (he already has the Nano), but I always considered Sega the Apple of gaming (up until the past few years). Unlike Apple, however, Sega innovated itself to death rather than succeeding. They used white for their major electronic device (Dreamcast) before Apple did.

I own all of these and I use them in the following order:

iPod - every single day
PSP - heaps
DS - not very often

You are going to get different answers from everyone, basically you should buy what ever you want more. If you can't make your own mind up I vote for the iPod.

For gaming, PSP. I own both a PSP and a DS, and PSP clearly kicks the crap outta DS. Ds is still good though.
Everyone I've talked to that owns both feels the same way.
iPod for music.

Aside from pure horsepower, I don't see what the DS lacks when compared to the PSP. The DS is very innovative with a great library of games and with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection coming up, I don't see how anyone can recommend the PSP.

And I too agree that Nintendo is the Apple of the gaming world, which is why I'm surprised to see the PSP recommended here.

That reminds me, we need to start a lawsuit against SONY for the PSP screen scratching.... ;-P

I own a PSP, DS and about 4 iPods (No video, yet).

iPod: Music
PSP: Action/higher res faster more mature games
DS: Lower res, more innovative games, generally catering to younger kids

So yes, they all have their place so you need to quantify what it is that you want from your purchase before you can make a decision...

I use my iPod everyday, but my PSP only about 2 or 3 times a week. so i would say, Get the iPod. If you have some extra cash, then get the PSP. You can easily find an emulator to play many GBA, Nintendo, and Sega games, but be careful since many of these emulators are still in their infancy. I like DS, but it just seems too bulky to carry around.

Neither DS nor PSP are like Apple. Yes they are innovating, but i don't see flocks of people with their DS or PSP on the train or bus, etc... I do believe PSP had a better chance and they blew it.
