I have a problem that I could not get a definitive answer to by searching. I have also called ATT and they were no help. They simply told me that the phone was broken. But the phone is not broken. I can access only the phone department. I can make and receive calls just fine. So I know the phone itself is not broken. However, every time I turn the phone on and slide the bar to the right to unlock the screen, the iphone goes straight to my favorites list. I cannot go to the home screen at all. No matter how many times I hit the home button it will not go back to the home screen. Basically it seems like my data plan/portion of the phone apps, maps, safari, etc is not working. I had the phone activated in the Best Buy store that I bought it from. The phone worked fine for the first five days and now this.

I have not dropped the phone, exposed it to water, etc. I am a complete dumb ass newbie with this phone. I was thinking taking the battery out and putting it back in would solve the problem. But I don't know how to access the battery, and I don't want to break the phone by taking the cover off incorrectly.

Any help would be appreciated.
