Foxconn, based in China is NOT Apple
Foxconn also makes majority of electronics in the world, not just Apple products

Apple could do something against it, Apple could go somewhere else, Apple could stop giving them money.

Do you jump off a bridge cause everybody else is doing so?

HP is evil, Dell is evil, so it's ok that Apple is evil too? Is this your way thinking?

That wouldn't change a thing about Apple being as bad as all the others.

Do you want Apple products to get more expensive than they already are? Sweat-shops aren't new. They make a huge range of things, dunno why your picking Apple out.

Do you appreciate the implications of Apple suddenly (just like that, using your simplistic logic) moving all production to North America?

Or are you interested in only theories about social justice, and not the practical (and often complex) considerations about actually putting them into practice?

Odds that the OP used one of the above companies' (or Apple's) products to post this message?

Also, odds that the documentary he posted was filmed/edited/produced with those same companies' products?

If you want social change, the best thing you can do is to vote with your wallet and not patronize these companies. But I am guessing that is too inconvenient for the OP.

I, for one, am only interested in theories. No need to be practical on the Internet. ;)

Yeah, take away their source of income, that will definitely solve their problems. Having money and food is way too overrated anyway.

A simple "no" would have been a better answer, echo.park.

Interesting how you ignore all of Apple's policies and reports on the matter to prevent abuse. Of course, you haven't provided any proof either and are just trolling.

Of course they do have these policies, but they DON'T enforce them. That's the problem. Chinese law says 36 hours overtime per week, workers often do 80 hours. Apples policies do nothing.

(Source: Has been discussed often enough on news channels around the world.)

Clearly you have no idea how things really work and the relationship Apple has with it's suppliers, Foxcon included.

They are one of the most responsible companies in any industry, as any supplier who has gone thru an Apple audit will tell you.

Climb on another platform. This one won't get you anywhere. Apple is one of the good guys.

Regarding Foxcon, they make it possible for hundreds of thousands of Chinese to live and eat in a country that would be in abject poverty if they did not supply the world with cheap labor. If you think these laborers would be better off back in their villages, you've clearly only seen China thru the Discovery Channel

Want to do some real good? Join the Peace Corps and volunteer to work in China for a decade or so.

Working at Foxconn is one of the most prized jobs in China. Those people are very happy to have the job and wouldn't leave if they could stay.

What I don't get is why that video was 100% focused on blaming foxconn and Apple, not foxconn and all their clients.

Because iProtest sounds sexier than Kindle Protest, Zune Protest, or Protest XPS.

Although Wii Protest would've worked...
