IR reviever the same as bluetooth

The apple remote that I use for the apple tv keeps launching front row. If I turn off the IR reciever will my my trackpad and keyboard stop working? I can't seem to find anything on this

The Remote is IR, the keyboard etc are bluetooth - so they will continue to work

If you'll properly pair the remote with the AppleTV, that will stop happening.
