which one is better... i really like the look of quickreply how it has a transparent text over whatever your doing even the lockscreen... but i haven't heard anybody using it.

I'd like to hear as well. I'm using tlert, which allows you to reply to SMS regardless of current running application and I love it. Only thing I can't do is invoke/start a new SMS without going to the Messages app. Can these two do that?

Irealquicksms allowws you to start a new SMS without going to the SMS app. Not sure about the other app though (never heard of it).

I use iRealSMS, and it's awesome. It's got quick reply, and also another feature where you can start a text from any app by pressing a volume key then tapping the volume icon.

I've not tried QuickReply, but I really do like iRealSMS.

What i dont like about the quickreply feature on iRealSMS is that sometimes it looks bugged out when you receive an sms and reply to it using the quickreply feature.

Can you please explain what you mean by "bugged out"? I use irealquicksms and don't see any issue with the quickreply feature.

I could be wrong here but I think you have purchase iRealSMS for $12-$13 before you can use iRealQuickSMS. I like the idea of being able to initiate an SMS from anywhere in the iphone but I think $12-$13 is too much to spend. Obviously QuickReply is much cheaper.

yes, quickreply is 2.99, but does it offer everything that the others do and function properly?

Nope - you can purchase irealquicksms by itself. That's what I did because I didn't want the full irealsms program.

They sound like great programs. For the time being, I'll stick with "tlert" and use Kirikae (Messaging as a favorite) to switch to messaging. Not as quick perhaps, but I don't have to leave my app to text.

Thanks for the info guys!

i use irealquicksms and I haven't had a problem with it. Occasionally if someone rapid fire texts me it might have a glitch but its rare (keyboard might not pop up for one of the texts).

You can initiate a text anytime by a certain combo of buttons, default is volume up button but you can change it to something else, mine is vol up button plus a screen tap so I don't lose the volume control.

You don't have to leave your app to text with irealquicksms - that's the whole point of the program. You can reply to an sms from whatever app you are in (the sms just pops up on the screen) and you can create a new sms from whatever app you are in - there's no need to go to the messaging app unless you want to delete conversations.

I use iRealQuickSMS as well and am very satisfied with it. It saves me a lot of time and I have never had any issues with bugs. Well worth the money.

I use Tlert for quick reply and BiteSMS for quick compose. Works like a charm.

i just installed quickreply last night and i love it. only problem is that you cannot start a new message without going into the app, you have to be replying.

i like quickreply better than the others because its cleaner and blends in with the default app. irealquicksms tends to cut off messages you receive as youre replying. quickreply basically opens the message app onto whatever you have opened with a transparent background. then quickly goes away when done.

btw im not sure if people here are ok with getting paid jailbroken apps for free, but its possible. i wont go any further

I love tlert, but I recently switched to irealquicksms since it has the option to start a new message without leaving your current program. If tlert adds this feature, I'll switch back though because I still like it a little better.

Does tlert light up on your lockscreen like irealquicksms? When I used it my screen didn't light up so I had to push the home button to see the screen.

I use Irealsms and love it. The only thing I found annoying is when you get the pop up message that you received a message and my iPhone is locked, when I try to write back, the phone goes back to sleep (because it was locked to begin with).

You can adjust the time (in seconds) so that when you're in the lock screen you give yourself more time (5 seconds is iPhone default) to read and reply to an incoming or composing a text message. Check the iReslsms settings, I set mine for 20 seconds.

I find this annoying too. What they should do is rewrite the program so that it actually appears on the lockscreen rather than over it (kind of like intelliscreen does). If they did that, any key press would keep the backlight active so you wouldn't have that problem with the backlight turning off. With Intelliscreen the backlight never goes off as long as your touching the screen. The way irealquick is now, you have to set it to a predetermined #of seconds that may be too long or too short in duration - not ideal. It is a great program though.

FYI, I paid $5.33 for irealquicksms (the price you pay depends on the current exchange rate).
