Seems the new model is about 20 grams lighter if I'm reading it correctly, 14 pro max about 245 and new 15 pro max about 220?

The 15 plus is still 201 which is great for the size.

I have a 13 pro and I like it alot but I do desire a bigger screen, the pro max is a brick in a sense.

Maybe I am still in the initial obsession and exaggeration stage, but my 15PM feels much lighter than my 14PM. They did a great job with this

The frame was replaced by titanium, so the weight reduction was at the edges of the phone. Makes a much bigger difference than you might expect because it makes the phone much easier to rotate in the hand.

I'd rather have that 60g be used for more battery or 1-inch image sensor cameras.

A day more stand by time is very desirable. Also an increase in image quality.

I was very happy with the battery improvement between my 11 Pro Max to 13 Pro Max because of that.

For most people their smartphone is their only camera. Anyone with a digital camera like a mirrorless has more disposable income than most smartphone users.

Without opening up a can of worms, what we have is basically a one inch sensor.
1/1.28” is very close to a 1 inch type sensor anyway plus the fact that none of the devices advertising a 1 inch sensor are able to use the full sensor size due to needing a much bigger lens in front of it. Those devices are basically using an area of the sensor, equal pretty much to what we get on the 14 and 15 Pro models.

If you scroll down, it says that for stills only 60% of the sensor is being used, and on most devices you only get a 12mp file as well…

I wouldnt mind fringing at the corners if can use more of the image sensor.

You’d get an image worse than from an iPhone shot in ProRaw, it’s not just fringing you’d get it’s a smaller file with less data, and if it’s a Sony an absolutely terrible auto mode.

15 Pro Max feels way smaller/lighter to me (And I still have both devices in hand.) The rounded corners + 1mm shaved off top/sides + the weight reduction makes it feel like a very different device.

I find the 15 Pro Max lighter but still very uncomfortable and cumbersome to enjoy. Returned it.
