Is a decked out mini more powerful than my current setup?

When it comes to light video editing, photo editing, and web design, which one performs better?


i7 mini with 16gb of ram and a 1TB fusion drive (HD4000)

21.5 iMac quad core 2.5ghz i5 with 12gb of ram and a 500gb at 5400rpm. (6750M 512 MB)

Does your software exploit GPU? If so, check to see which one offers a superior result. As for the rest, the Mac Mini appears to have more "power" and speed.

the mini is faster but the imac doesnt seem that outdated really. it still looks good for at least a couple more years.

Anything with a spinner loses BIG TIME.

The Mini may be more cost-effective, plus you get to pick a bigger display.
