I have a Verizon 64gb iPhone 5 that is jailbroken and is on 6.1. Depending on what new features the 5s has (i.e simultaneous data/voice), I might sell my iPhone 5 to get the new phone. Is mine worth more than non-jailbroken iP5, or the same? Can someone else use a jailbroken iPhone 5, or if I reset it for someone's use would I lose the jailbreak?

TIA!

It entirely depends on the buyer. For a person who really wants a jailbreak, you can get more for it

You cannot press the erase all content and reset button if you are jailbroken

ya. the problem is it cannot be reset.

if you have one on 6.1.2 not jailbroken it would be worth at least 25% more than the ongoing price for a used iphone 5 6.1.3+

Yes you can clean the phone, but it needs to be done manually.

Is this a joke?

Price for a factory unlocked stock iPhone 5 (32 GB)- $749
Price for a jailbroken iPhone 5 (same storage, unlocked)- $935?

A jailbroken and unlocked 32 GB iPhone 5 costs almost $1000? Really?

No smarty pants stop quoting the prices of new phones because we are not talking about those.

Added value for jail-break?

Fine, but 25% is still a bit much. How can you even give a definite figure?

It is easy enough to look at eBay "completed listings" for both phones. Of course, there are many variables, such as condition, age, AppleCare, and carrier, but those that are jailbroken seem to be worth about $100 more.

My 4s jailbroken on 6.1.2 fetched me about $50 more AND it had a small crack in the front glass bezel.

Is a jailbroken iPhone 5 worth more than a non-jailbroken one?

Is a pink civic with a 5 foot wing worth more than a stock one? Just some perspective.

Depends who is buying.
