Acrobat XI is old and isn't supported by Adobe anymore. I guess you've been on whatever older version you've been using. https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/end-of-support-acrobat-xi-reader-xi.htmlIm very skeptical on going to the XI version and id like to hear a few comments on why should i or not![]()
It certainly doesn't make any sense to go to XI now. It would make sense to use the Acrobat Pro DC trial to see if it will do what you need. https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/download-install-trial.htmlI want to use Pro in order to be able to view pdf files, check their colors and trapping info for prepress.
I liked 9.x a lot. The new ones have more features, but the old stuff seemed snappy compared to the new stuff.I used Acrobat 9.4.1 Pro for years, up the middle of last week. 9 is old, but will do the job and doesn't require a subscription. If XI is old then that makes 9 ancient but means XI can do the job as well.
Using DC Pro now though.
Yeah, getting used to DC Pro has been a head trip. I went direct from 9 so finding where Adobe has put things has been difficult.I liked 9.x a lot. The new ones have more features, but the old stuff seemed snappy compared to the new stuff.
You can still get Acrobat Pro without a subscription. You're looking for Acrobat Pro 2017, rather than DC.I can't afford to be paying every now and then the subscription plan
Sorry, I thought I replied to this. Yes, I agree with your post. Though the biggest issue I had with 9.x was that it was slow and buggy-ish.Yeah, getting used to DC Pro has been a head trip. I went direct from 9 so finding where Adobe has put things has been difficult.
I actually prefer Acrobat 6, mainly because that's the one I used the longest, but 9 was good.
It's typical Adobe though. Adding feature bloat for the sake of pushing the sale of a "new" product. Most of this stuff I don't use anyway.
