Hi! I've recently been thinking about getting an iMac. Here are some of the things I will be doing on it:
•Programming (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java).
•Watching Videos.
•Playing Minecraft.
Is an iMac right for me? If so, is 8GB enough? Or what system settings should I shoot for?

Yes it's good. Why not? 21.5" or 27"? And new models (2017)?

If you're just going to use the machine at your desk then an iMac is a great choice. 27" for screen estate is invaluable when programming, I'd suggest at least 16GB of RAM as you may want to run a VM, get the largest SSD you can afford then choose the processor to take up the rest of your budget.
