My current computer is a MacPro 2009 6core 3,33 Ghz with 16 GB RAM. It has a pci SSD OWC Accelsior and the graphics card is a Geforce GTX 980.
I consider to buy an iMac 2017 4core 4,2 GHz with 24 GB RAM (with 16 GB from OWC), 512 GB SSD and a Radeon 580 Pro graphics card and an external hard disk of 4 TB
I have searched on the internet to benchmarks and came to the following comparison:

Open GL 61 fps > 134 fps
CPU 798 cb > 920 cb
3) Black Magic Disk Speed Test
Read 655 MB/s > 2312 MB/s
Write 381 MB/s > 1989 MB/s
4) Heaven 128x720 2AA windowed Preset Basic
97 fps > 137 fps and score 2451 > 3451
5) GFX Bench Metal
Offscreen 1080 P
a) Manhatten 151 fps > 423 fps
b) T-Rex 574 fps > 714 fps
Onscreen Manhatten 60 fps > 120 fps
6) Luxmark 3 Open CL Luxball Render
11174 > 13265 and the score with the Geforce in my MacPro produced an error (failed)
7) Only the performance of Motion Render disappoints. But I currently don't use this application.

The results from the new iMac are impressive. But I am worried about the heat of the i7 and the fan noise.
I do a lot of video conversion.
Can someone who bought the fastest new iMac post his experiences?
