It seems most are opting for the ANC version of the AirPods 4 and I haven’t seen a single post about something buying the non-ANC version. Are any of you buying the non-ANC version and if so, Why did you choose it over the ANC version?
If I decide to upgrade my AirPods 3, this is what I would consider, as I never use them outdoors and barely use trains or planes when I travel. So I basically need them in the house not to disturb other occupants or take an occasional phone/video call.
Think of it this way - in life we never hear any sounds in isolation, it is always a mix to a degree.
Meantime my AirPods 3 batteries (case and the left pod) are getting weak after there years of a very moderate use, this is why I am still wondering if I would be better off getting a proper on or over the ears wired set to really enjoy that lossless Apple Music.
So I am now waiting for more in-depth tests of how AP4 actually sound.
I’m switching to AirPods 4 from AirPods Pro, bc the silicone tips and the ANC each gave me nausea. In fact, for the past 6mos I’ve gone back to EarPods, which are by far more comfortable to me than the Pros. I was an early adopter of AirPods 1, so I’m glad to be back to the “standard” version.
Since I would never use ANC, I couldn’t justify paying more solely for the extra features in the case.
Getting them for my work bag for sure. I have APP2 that I’ve been carrying between home and work. These will be better for work to allow me to hear others. Plus they’ll almost certainly be $99 on a sale soon. I’ll get them then.
One friend went no ANC for work like others here have said, important to hear if people are speaking to you in retail
I was speaking about the version I ordered the other day and a friend pulled out the 1st generation and said they weren't working well anymore lol. So she's going for the non ANC because of the price
I debated because I already have the pros but I am really tired of the pros & want these to mostly be a replacement, that's why I went ANC
