Other Is anyone choosing hold for pick up with UPS?

If you have it held at ehe CC (Customer Center) where it has to go through before it comes to you. If you pick anything else it will add a business day which would be Monday.

Typically when you click on the option to change delivery the first option that comes up is the CC. That shouldn't add a day and before you submit it it will ket you know if it does or not.
 
okay maybe that was just fedex. but as soon as i get my tracking number ill put my request to pickup at the service center. my order is still showing as preparing to ship and for delivery on 21st.

Also if it's from the carrier. Typically Apple will use fedex and there is no restrictions. I believe Verizon set a strict restrictions to not allow hold for pick up until after first attempt.
 
I am off Friday so I will get it held at the hub no matter if its FedEx or UPS :)

Apple has always used UPS for me.

If FedEx they have to make at least one attempt before you can have it held for pick up.

I am off too and picking mine up at the CC in the morning. :D

FedEx requires a delivery attempt? Dang...hopefully mine comes UPS :)

Mine said the same thing. I emailed ups to inquire about it but they automatically changed mine for pickup. It says pickup for 9/21 though, fingers crossed!
 
I do hold for pick up all the time and it never adds a day, I use the UPS My Choice account. Like you said in your first post that's exactly what you should be able to do is pick it up when it opens....if you tell them to hold it early enough. Once it's on your delivery truck you will have to wait.

This isn't true. If you're signed up for Fed Ex delivery manager you can hold at numerous Fed Ex locations.

I’m having mine held at the UPS office that it would normally go to prior to going on the truck for delivery I’ve already spoke to them and I can pick it up after 8:30 AM on Friday
 
Yep. Commonly do. CC Center/Hub about 20 minutes away. I can be there right at 8:00 and still be back to the office by 8:30. I don’t have to take a day off work, don’t need to worry about somehow missing the driver for a signature, get my package 4-5 hour earlier than typical delivery, and don’t have to worry about the item somehow going missing while out for delivery.

For people close to a delivery center, I’d have a hard time coming up with a reason to NOT pick it up when it requires a signature anyway.

I’ve picked mine up from my local CC the last 3 years and will be doing the same this year. Gotten it exactly at 8am on Friday every year so far.
 
Yeah I’m doing it this year and have done it the past few years. There shouldn’t be a delay listed on the UPS site, are you sure you selected the correct CC? For some reason, I was unable to select the right CC (wasn’t even on the list) this year, but you can DM UPS Support in Twitter and they can do it for you, as this will ensure that the right customer center gets selected
 
Because the UPS CC nearest me only opens at noon and not on weekend I chose to have it go to UPS Locker which has 24/7 access and is at same site. I was told by UPS customer service that it would arrive on 9/21 but that change is not reflected in my current tracking info.
 
Is there any confirmation after you select to have it held at CC? I don’t see this noted anywhere on the mobile tracking site. On desktop site it said something like requested or processing request... I can’t remember and don’t have access to desktop atm. Guess I’ll just show up tomorrow morning and hope for the best.

I have my iPhone coming tomorrow via FedEx (AT&T pre-order). Contacted them. They said no signature is required.

Not with AT&T pre-order you can't. I tried today. Contacted FedEx. No way to hold my package at any FedEx location.
