I've used push gmail as soon as it was available. Everything was running smoothly, then all of a sudden about 3-4 weeks ago no emails come through in a timely manner. Even if I get an email in the system, it will not show up in my inbox for hours - even if I refresh it.

I used to use IMAP and would work well, never had this problem. Should I completely erase my gmail account and redo it on the exchange server?

I'm on an iPhone 3G running 3.1.2

I'm using Gmail on the Exchange server and it has been working fine, no hiccups or anything. We have the same setup, iPhone 3G with 3.1.2. I get mine pushed right away (or like 2 seconds lol)

I suggest you redo your Gmail on Exchange, delete it and add it back again.

I tried setting up Gmail as Google instructs you to do, using MS Exchange. It didnt work reliable enough so I just went back to IMAP with fetch on 30 mins. Works fine for what I use it for.

I started using Gmail through exchange on the iPhone and it's been working perfectly on three iPhones. It's making me reconsider renewing MobileMe in September.

Cant you just use fetch on 15 min intervals with Gmail setup? Works flawlessly.

G-Mail Exchange has been much slower for me lately. Mail used to come in 2-3 seconds after sending but lately it's been more like 3-4 minutes.

Yeah, that's still fine, but there is definitely a huge difference and I'm not sure why it changed. I didn't change anything on my end.

YES...

it worked for me for about a month.. it was perfect - then all of a sudden, about 2 weeks ago, it basically stopped working (Contacts and Calendar still work perfectly though exchange).

I have completely deleted the accounts and re stated them, I have restored the phone, and still same results.

If I enable microsoft exchange and push - and set the mail to grab the first 100 emails... it wont, it will get about 12 or so, and then stop.

IMAP is working perfectly, but I much prefer exchange.

My GF has the same phone (3Gs) same OS 3.2.1 (7D11), but it's working perfectly for her.

we are not alone.... :apple::apple::apple:

All I can get from google groups is that it's not affecting everyone.

Must be only some servers that are affected... and my mail is on an affected server. :(

Mine has been pushing fine whats weird is when I have no new messages it will show that I have -1 new email. If I get 1 new email in I don't get a badge on my mail icon. Going into mail it shows blank for number of messages yet I have 1 new email to be read. If I get more than 1 then I get the badge indicating the number of new emails minus 1.

Very strange. I've reset my gmail settings and still does this. May need to restore which I'm not looking forward to doing.

Another thing I forgot to mention was actually sending te message. Well over half the time it doesn't send on the first attempt, especially if I am attaching a photo. It'll give me an error like "cannot send mail" or "connection to server failed"

I will have no choice but to redo all of the settings.

For those of you that have it working perfectly, what settings do you have it on? For instance I only use the push email, and that's it. No contacts or calendars (do these 2 sync with address book and iCal?). I have SSL on, I sync for the past month, and I push my inbox + sent folders.

I'm trying to sync Contacts/Cal/Email..
I have tried any and all combination... but the mail just won't work properly.

I try to only push my inbox.. but that isn't working properly..

It's very frustrating... as I had it working 100% for over a month... then one day it just quit.

I guess it's back to IMAP for me till google sorts this out... which is probably a distant secondary priority for them with the nexus one complaints/issues.
