For the past few days AIM(ichat) has been disconnecting randomly overnight, but IRC doesn't disconnect so it's not my internet. This happens on every pc on my network, so it's not my mac either. Anyone else having this issue?

The AIM servers apparently shut down for a while Sunday night/Monday morning, as I lost my connection.

 This has been bugging me a lot lately. I thought it was my internet connection. AIM will just randomly disconnect. Usually, it will happen about once per hour. :( Actually, I thought it was a problem with iChat. I posted about this about a week ago... I would really love to find out what's going on.

yes! this has been happening to me as well. i just got my first mac yesterday - 15" macbook pro :)D) and i kept getting kicked off of AIM and was beginning to be worried that it was a problem with my new and otherwise amazing computer. thank you for putting my worries to rest...hopefully this doesn't keep happening.

PS - has happened twice this morning since i've been on from 11:30 to 12 pm.

Thanks for the replies guys. As for why I'm using "aim", I'm not, I am using iChat. I should probably give audium a try, I just figure iChat is more reliable since it's officially supported, 3rd party clients in linux sometimes had issues, not sure if that's still the case.

Is AIM itself closing? AIM used to randomly quit on me. I couldn't figure out why, but then I discovered adium.

One thing I noticed on the version of AIM for Macs is that is doesn't work with the Mighty Mouse. Could this be some of your guys' problems? If you scroll sideways, it seems to always quit.
