Is anyone else hyped for Redstone?

I cant possibly be the only one looking forward to the idea of a new Windows release. Okay, that sounds lame. But this new one will be the one that will likely add a lot to the Edge browser and make it amazing. Maybe this could also be when they put it into the store for quicker updates.

Either way, the first build so far is already really good.

I can't wait until about February when the features start coming in.

I use Windows 10 and prefer it over OS X but I don't follow the new features coming out. I haven't even used Edge other than to download Chrome

Definitely looking forward to it here, hopefully I can use my 950 XL with the rumoured Continuity/Handoff style features that might be coming, that was one thing I liked in the Apple ecosystem, unfortunately with Threshold I can only use Cortana to send texts currently.

I've been using Windows10 on my htpc and have really enjoyed it. So much so that I'm now looking at a Dell XPS 13 as my next laptop. I don't care what anyone says, Windows is a great OS these days.

What's so good about minecraft? It's coming to VR, that's what's so good!

Just kidding, back on topic now. Although not a Microsoft fan, I'm interested in where Microsoft's new system will take them, I think they're taking an OS X approach to Windows 10, releasing a new version with incremental upgrades every year or so. I'm interested in whether this will be more successful than there former approach.
So basically, Redstone will be Windows 10.1, and will contain minor improvements. But as I say, I'm more interested in the result of the changes rather than the changes themselves.

I don't really care about desktop OS releases, especially now that I've pretty much ditched OS X for good for Windows 10. Now I'm just hoping major updates don't mess anything up.

I don't understand what makes Edge attractive; it's not like Microsoft has a stunning track record in web browsers either haha. Chrome is just too good right now.

As hilarious as it is to pretend that older I.E. is an indication of how Edge works is, it actually isn't. Everything from standards support to performance, the team has made huge leaps in the last few years. In some ways, they are better for standards than even Chrome.

Opera was the best for standards, and that didn't get them anywhere :p. I don't see anything wrong judging Edge by Microsoft's past browser offering - IE wasn't all bad after all, I just meant that Microsoft is SLOW with development. Last time I tried it too many features weren't there - no autotranslate, no extensions, no toolbars etc. I think it will be a good browser in time, I'm just not sure what's so great about it right at the moment.

For me? Performance, scrolling, and text rendering are all better than Chrome on HiDPI screens.

Nice, this is exactly why Microsoft's approach to mobile is the only way. Instead of a watered.down and weak OS, Windows will be a full OS which works on a mobile platform. I'm very impressed with Windows scaling from my 720p 8" tablet all the way to my 40" 4k monitor.
