I'm just wondering if I'm alone in this. I am using MobileMe to sync my PC calendar, contacts and bookmarks with me.com and then on to my iPhone and vice versa BUT right now, I'm not using it for email. I have compared Gmail with .Me email and Gmail is just much better IMO. The web interface is much more robust and as far as Push goes, I seem to get email on it pretty instantaneous. I am also using the Photo app in .Me and email photos to it from both my iPhone and my Moto Q. Right now, I really don't see any use for iDisk, since I'm not a Mac user (but I do hope to change that at some point in the near future). So I guess I need to decide before my trial expires, whether it is worth $99/year for syncing my calendar, contacts, bookmarks and the photo app. I know a lot of folks might say probably not, but it is really nice to make a calendar change and have it updated automatically to my iPhone and vice versa. Plus I need to take into account that I hope at some point in the next few months to replace my Compaq with a Mac. Anyway, anyone else doing what I'm doing?

I am - I use Fastmail for mail and use MobileMe to sync my contacts and calendar.

Unfortunately, I added an appointment to my iPhone 3 hrs ago and it STILL hasn't appeared on my mac after many manual syncs. I also thought I could accept new meeting invites via iPhone and that's not working either...

X2 on fastmail. Great product and lets me use my own domain name. It's an example of a simple non-graphical web email client that really works and it's IMAP so it stays in sync with my macs and my PCs and my iPhone. But no calendar.

So I'm in the same boat. MM is just a calendar and contact sync service.

You do know you can now mount an iDisk as a network folder in Windows don't you? So it appears as a removable drive :)

I do emails from the MM web interface just for testing out but I prefer Apple's Mail application. I use the MM calendar explicitly, even more so now then iCal. I like the instant push.

Um, you have to be fair as far comparing Gmail to the MM web interface. Of course Gmail is faster and more robust, it's been in service for years. .Mac mail was quite fast as well before the MM transition. Give it a few months and then compare Gmail to MM. Apple will indeed improve it and most likely will offer users a lot more features over time.

I use Yahoo mail which pushes to the phone. I use MM for calendar and contacts only.

Cant wait for a shared calendar option so the wife and I can view each others calendars!
