I recently had weird experience where mail was closing, mail got hung up downloading, phone not acting smooth. Calls not going through or answering but not hearing party and them not hearing me.
Now this all of sudden started happening with no relationship to any update or changes being made.
Did restarts, hard starts, network resets, turning cellular off and on, all the usual stuff. After some investigating two things came up in online searches.
First that others had similar problems centered around having yahoo mail address in apple mail app. Tried any number of solutions, fixes did not worked longer than next reboot and mail pull.
Final solution was to remove yahoo mail from integrated mail addresses in Apple mail and download yahoo mail app just for my yahoo address. Leaving all others on Apple mail.
All mail back to normal. Suspect yahoo made some changes making use in Apple mail app unfriendly. Dis’t they just get bought out by Google?
At same time I was using AT&T app to control and reduce spam calls. I suspected this was messing up my legitimate calls. So I removed that app and my calls are now back to normal.
Further thing to note is when yahoo address was integrated under Apple mail app I would receive upwards of 50 spam emails in spam folder daily. Now that yahoo mail in it’s own app that has dropped to 3 a day in spam folder. I did turn off like two dozen tracking switches in yahoo mail app. They buried deep in security setup menu.
Sometimes companies other than Apple make unannounced changes that mess things up. We assume it’s Apple, but may be our friends at yahoo, google, Facebook, AT&T, etc.
