The town without George Bailey
I have an iPhone 7 and iPad 6 gen. I have a push-enabled IMAP account. I’d say 40% of my new emails are not pushed, i.e., a new badge count doesn’t appear.

I’ve made all sorts of attempts to fix this. I’ve turned Fetch to manual for all things fetched, reset the devices, reset the Mail app, airplane mode toggled, deleted/re-added the account, you name it.

I realize it’s a beta. But I have the exact same problems with iOS 13.

Has anyone had any success with any particular methods you’ve used? Please tell me.

I get a reliable badge count on both my iPhone xR and 2018 iPad Pro, both on 13.6. I use Apple Mail only; I have Push enabled, and my Fetch setting is Automatic. I know Push is only supposed to check in the background when we’re connected to power and wi-fi, but new mail seems to show up with a badge even when not connected to power.

No issues here with Mail - with badge count or anything else, plus I only use iCloud.

I also use Apple Mail and while the notification badge counter is accurate on my iPhone 11 and usually on my iPad mini 5 (both running PB2), when I empty the trash in the mail app on one of them it will not always empty it on the other one. Same when I empty the trash on my iMac (Catalina 10.15.6), does not always empty the trash on the iOS devices.
