Is anyone using IM+ with Backgrounder?

Does anyone know why IM+ doesn't use badges when you have new messages? Or is it because I'm using it with backgrounder?

Just curious to know about peoples thoughts about this. Also, I can never tell if it stays connected or reconnects.

For example, if I go into the app, after an hour of not using it, the app says "restoring" then shows buddy lists. Was I signed in that whole time?

Not sure about IM+, but my experience with Yahoo messenger running in the background with backgrounder was not too positive. I couldn't hear any incoming IM and badges were not updated. I think badges are definitely push related so when you have it running in the background, it doesn't function the same. I may be wrong . My suggestion is to not use it in the background if you are with official carrier since push works fine.

Try it again. Push is a tiny system service, while IM+ is a (comparably) huge app which polls the internet constantly. I can't imagine that push wouldn't be far less of a drain.

it is known for every iphone to have different battery juice problems

i had spectacular battery life pre-jb and now have manageable batt life

maybe its because of usage over time, and the updates causes battery life to drain more constantly

its crazy because theres plenty of free memory to do so
