On one of my Macs of course
Aloha everyone,

I just did a quick look at OWC's site to check on RAM for my late 2009 iMac. I noticed that both OWC and NuRAM have lowered their prices and that NuRAM is still lower in price than OWC. I purchased additional OWC RAM for my late 2008 MacBook Pro and it works flawlessly, but I didn't have the NuRAM option when I purchased that RAM.

It's not that I only want to save money, but I am interested in purchasing the NuRAM memory over the OWC memory. Has anyone used NuRAM memory? If so, what are your thoughts, especially as compared to OWC memory?

I just received my NuRam 2x4GB kit from OWC last Friday. I installed them and my late '09 iMac i5 recognized them immediately. The only glitch I saw was Saturday morning, after waking it from sleep and logging in, the BT keyboard and the trackpad were unresponsive so I had to hit the power button to restart. Weird that it let me type in my password then become unresponsive...

One thing I didn't do was unplug the iMac as I was doing the upgrade as the manual says I should. So I unplugged then replugged and did the Option-Command-P-R on startup to clear the PRAM and the NVRAM. I didn't see the problem again yesterday and this morning when I woke it up. Yesterday, I was working on it all day and saw no problems.

Given the price and the warranty, they are an excellent value. I'm keeping these puppies.
