Is Apple acquiring Ecobee?

In this interview at CES with Stuart Lombard, CEO of thermostat maker Ecobee, when asked if they'll support Homekit, he says "we can't talk about Homekit. But we're in Apple stores."

Why couldn't he talk about Homekit? They're at CES where everyone else is talking about it. He's touting his product, wouldn't he want to give all the details?

Is he simply not disclosing future support/non-support? Or is Apple acquiring Ecobee??

That’s the most likely scenario. Just because Apple is offering a tech doesn’t mean that everyone jumps into it (see Fitbit and Health App). They don’t want to talk about it because they haven’t decided.

It's also possible that Ecobee is going to be doing a presentation at the June 8th event and so they can't disclose details....
