So I have just spent a frustrating day being hassles like the old days when I had a MICROSOFT system

the rude techs and a ceiling that describes the limits for complaints

I recently, April, replaced my 1Mac 27

I had one that kept failing -- goes to a black screen, and shuts down

the three representatives -- 2 juniors and one senior made me feel like I was stupid and forced me to follow a rigid path that kept saying in the three-steps dictated we would to each step and see if it fixed the issue -- i.e.doing one step and then seeing if it fixed the problem --- I had made copies of the "auto restart" three-page description of the problem yet they asked for it when I had the issue with the last Imac 27, however a Senior Technician -- HUH, I was told they were my only person and they were the G-D and no one else would be able to listen to me or help me.

This system cost 5,800.00 and was designed to stop the constant sudden failures that led to me becoming frustrated with the last one, however, it is acting as the last one

I also was told that Word was not an apple supported product and it could be causing the problem!

has anyone else become frustrated

I'm not really tracking with your post as a whole, but I think you better explain what on earth "Word" is, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who has no idea what you're talking about.

Has a problem with MSWord which isn't an apple supported programme.

Apple's asked the OP 3x to do the same diagnostic & when they raised concern about getting nowhere, the senior tech said the buck stops with them, they can't complain higher.

I guess it never occurred to me that he was referring to MICROSOFT Word, because I cam't imagine how it would cause the kind of issue he was describing. I thought maybe it was some odd hardware peripheral or some niche piece of software he was talking about. I've been using MS Word (and Excel and PowerPoint) on Macs since 2005 and although the apps themselves have occasionally crashed, they have never crashed or frozen my entire system.

I'm taking the drama part with a grain of salt, because we all know they didn't tell them he was "god" or anything silly like that. I get that the OP is frustrated, but it sounds like because of that we're getting a highly filtered version of what actually happened.

It would be helpful if the OP would just give us more context than "goes to a black screen, and shuts down" - like is there any pattern to this or is it random? How often does it happen? Error messages? etc. If I were him, and the tech suggested MS Word was the issue, the logical thing would be to uninstall MS Word and see if the problem persists. If the problem goes away, then he should contact Microsoft.

This kind of failure seems a hardware problem. However the technician's advice shouldn't be simply tossed out. I use Skype. The app was bought by MS. MS can't code. Sometimes it pushes my CPU to 100 percent which actually could cause a failure.

Deinstall Word and reinstall a fresh copy. If this does not work go to the console app on launchpad. It's in the category labeled 'Other'. It contains crash reports. If you are willing to share those some techie here might be able to understand what is going on.
