Is Apple Intelligence not available in all macOS apps?

I enabled Apple Intelligence after upgrading and I can see it working e.g. in Mail and Safari etc to summarize text and other things, but for example if I write a message in an app like Slack I don't see the writing tools to rewrite my message with a different tone and things like that. I thought Apple Intelligence would automatically be integrated with all apps. Is that not the case?

I can't find the information again but my understanding is that it is only available to apps that use the Apple text APIs.
