Where is the leak? It’s basically Prosser stating that they have one in the works. That’s speculating at best.

Personally I’m not convinced that I’d ever buy one.

The first sentence in that article is a lie - I can confirm this because “I” never even thought about this type of iPhone. This sentence is designed to lure you in and that is underhanded. If the article is going to begin with such a blatantly wrong generalization then what makes me think anything else in the article is based on facts?

Flip-iPhone will go over extremely well with the influencer crowd. Will probably be available in limited quantities and sell for an eye watering price. Apple leadership will laugh all the way to the bank.

Like the Galaxy Flip it won't technically have the best available specs vs current iPhones. That won't matter because it's an iPhone that flips shut to end a call. What's old is new again and your 1.5 million followers will drool over your new flip phone.

Yep, that might happen very likely, when in the real world iPhones pushed these devices that need to be opened out of the market due to much better functionality, screen etc. Flip is not making a major comeback in my opinion, a pure fashion statement for those who want to look as if they lived 15 years ago or those who simply don’t use the device often enough.

Something different needs to happen to ‘shake up’ the smart phone market. Consumers probably aren’t interested in certain features like LiDAR, Promotion displays, ‘the continual incremental updates’ that we see every year, and where that changes needs to happen is in terms of design, and I think that will at least offer something ‘Abnormal’ from the same physical design we see every year, even though I think Apples focus is definitely moving toward AR/‘Apple Glasses.’

If they can get the line between the two screens down to a mm or 2 then I could see it, but any larger and it would be much more of an issue than the notch.

People are buying less either because the technology is plateaued and not making huge improvements and what they already own is good enough or because of financial issues caused by the pandemic.

Going back to an old form factor won’t change that in my opinion.

Think people are smarter and more wiser. Incremental updates plateau of tech and also financials as well. Rich wealthy people don’t buy this **** or apples high end phones

Prosser said they are working on a folding iPhone that is two half’s that unfold to make a full panel.

After the Steve jobs special edition glass talks I’ll take him with an extra grain of salt.

That’s incorrect. What about the Apple Watch Edition that cost over 10k, who do you think that was meant to appeal to? Yup, the wealthy.

I just want to try to put this respectful as I can, but you have no idea what you’re talking about. Apple products tend to not reach just the masses, but definitely those who have a career where supports to make purchases with their product line, because they’re very expensive. And I’m not talking just from a general consumer standpoint, look at industries like the medical field, law-enforcement, aerospace, gaming/developing, etc.

Apple has some of the strongest loyalists followers in the tech world, and part of that is because of Steve Jobs and the quality and engineering behind their products. If Apple released a foldable/flip phone tomorrow With a steep price tag, there are plenty of financially stable/wealthy consumers who would gladly purchase something of this nature.

There will always be people who buy a fashion statement. How many those will be is to be seen.

The gold Apple Watch is gone for half a decade almost which is more than indicative that it was not successful. It probably serves as a marketing gimmick to get on the minds of the fashion world journalists and it served that purpose well but it never came back and was discontinued quickly which is more than telling.

I would love to have this....
Folds in half.... opens to be the size of my current 11 Pro Max.....

Each to their own i don’t think there is another leaker out there who is more trust worthy at this stage. Well apart from Kuo.

I think there is a potential market for both an iPhone folding in this manner and like the Galaxy Fold.
