Super delayed iMacs which im starting to wonder that they might not even ship by the advertised date since they are so behind (it seems). Delayed iTunes, problems with iPhone productions, firing people, issues with maps. What's going on ???? I think apple needs to pull it together,what do you guys think ?

Apple is fast in increasing prices and fast too in delaying products... Apple without Steve is a rotten apple... Tim Cook seems to be smelling that rotten apple, because of that his face xD
Too much on the plate all at once if you ask me.

I think they've spread themselves too thin. They want to do it all - hardware, two operating systems, apps, map service, music and video software, etc. They should narrow their focus. But, yeah, like the person above me said, I'm just some dude who doesn't even work in the tech world.
Times are hard. Everyone has to make cuts. Apple is the same. The need to amend their business in order to keep them at the top of several markets.
iMac was announced early and I think apple knew it wouldnt be ready. But needed to announce before Windows 8 release for people thinking of jumping over or staying with windows.
Jobs wanted to change the world. Cook just wants to make the stake holders happy.

All I've heard all these months was when the new iMac going to be released. Now you have it and you are still not satisfied.

Well, we do not have it. We have an estimate of having it.

I don't think we asking for too much apple had its time to pull together the iMacs and they just fail. Idk I know Steve jobs didn't do everything at apple and many mistakes were made when he was in charge, but I don't think all this crap wouldn't have happened, I think Steve is not around to push people to do things quick enough and cook is less pushy therefore release date slipping. Steve pushed people To do things I'm a certain amount of time that seemed impossible yet he made it happen, without that leadership I think everyone is just slacking I hope apple doenst turn into a mediocre company.
I see it as a big plus that they actually announced it ahead of the launch and am rather hopeful, that we'll actually be able to buy the machines in the respective months. Not knowing anything was a real bother, but now we know what is coming and when.
Don't get me wrong though, I still check the web every day, to see if iMacs can be pre-ordered already ; )
I think apple are doing fine, everyone needs to stop comparing Tim to Steve, Tim is bringing more of the "Other guys" to the front.
I think the latest re shuffle speaks volumes about how quickly the company responds to non performance, look at Kodak and RIM, they still have the same people on the deck of the sinking ship!

Siri and Maps, well Siri I'm ok with, Maps were launched 12 months too early, but the guy who's responsibility it was has now gone, and lets be honest it's not atypical for apple to launch a product to a deadline... That was true Steve style!
The iTunes delay gives me hope... Delaying a product launch and openly saying we need more time to get more of it right is better than Launching and patching problems... Windows 8 anyone!?
iToy production issues... It's headlines, I'm sure Apple could launch with a lot more stock than they do, but its a marketing exercise, not a production issue, besides, as far as apple are concerned its a supplier issue, the production issues are for the supplier to deal with!
I think things are starting to level off, Apple had a run at the Tablet market and the Phone market, so we may see its % decrease over the next few iterations, but who knows what hey have up their sleeves!

I agree with most of what you said except what's quoted. Personally, I don't believe the shuffle means anything. If an employee defies a request or order to sign a company statement to customers acknowledging mistakes were made by the company, that employee has to go. A subordinate does not say no to boss and expect to survive. Asking Forstall to step down was not a big deal IMO. Otherwise, Cook's authority would have been compromised. There is nothing groundbreaking about this managerial decision making.
I think there is more behind Browett leaving then what was said. My guess is Browett is leaving on his own accord. I am sure during his job interview expectations were discussed. Lower level managers do not do things intentionally to embarrass the company. Apple (Tim Cook) openly criticizing Browett put Browett in an untenable position. It must have been publicly humiliating to him to be spanked publicly.
Apple did not want to take the heat for reducing staff while making billions in profits. That along with the FoxCom problem in China would have put Apple on the wrong side of labor. The company decline to back Browett decision to reduce staff. I think Browett refused to be the fall guy.
I know where you are coming from, Tim needed to stand ground with Forstall, but I suspect that it was the final straw when he wouldn't sign the letter RE: Maps, reading it seems he clashed with quite a few people and maybe felt more secure than he actually was...?
As for Mr Retail, I never know how he got the Job, he was a dick in the UK while working at Dixons group, then messed with the retail employees at apple, he had to go, funny thing I was reading that for him to keep his stock, he had to work for Apple for 2 or 5 years (memory is going!) as I read it I though there was no way he would last!

I don't think all these recent issues are of any great significance, and are just issues encountered as the company regains its footing in a post-Steve Jobs world. Unless, of course, I'm completely wrong.
They've had some problems the last few years so they are trying to reorganise. With recent changes in the management, I believe Apple has all the cards to get back on the top of its game.
I am also very eager to see how they will manage without Samsung's components. Were all these lawsuits worth it losing the supplier of top-quality cheap high-tech displays? Look at what it has done to the price of the rMBP 13" already...
Well, its very significant for the future direction Apple will develop to. During the last few years, the Mac undergo some really crazy technological advancements - the unibody, the retina and now the ultra-thin iMac with can house a gaming PC tower components. In contrast, the software didn't develop that much. There were some cosmetic changes as well as serious under-the hood changes (e.g. Core Storage), but we have seen a decay/stagnation of all these things that made OS X really unique (AppleScript, Automator, XGrid). Also, the file system needs some serious changes (but the groundwork is already laid down with Core Storage, which implements some of the most advanced storage system algorithms). I think that the new management will lead to quicker innovations on the software side.
I hope you're right about that, and agree that there's room for improvement there....we'll see.
