I know I am not the only one saying that MOBILEME is the worst,
most ineffective piece of software that Apple ever conceived.
It doesn't work as it should, and I am amazed that anyone who
has multiple computers and an iPhone is having their email and
contacts pushed accordingly between devices.
I remember when Steve Jobs demonstrated this software, and the
way he did so, made it seem as if the synching of mail, calendars
and contacts between devices would be instantaneous.
Okay, so we learn later that it is not instantaneous and that there
would be delayed synch issues pending on what device used.
But now, the software doesn't even do what it was designed to
anymore.
My mail on my Macbook Pro doesn't even synch up with my other
computers. Any mail that is deleted on other devices still shows
up on my Macbook Pro. There is no longer any uniformity where you
delete messages on one device and it is done across the board.
My iPhone? Can't put new calendar events in it. It will not push
to my Macbook Pro or Mac Pro. I have to put the contacts in those
devices to push to the iPhone. After a while you learn which device
is the master and which are the slaves.
...but it should not work like that. What you do on one device
should be pushed to all your devices and this is exactly the one
thing that MobileMe is not consistent on.
I mean, is Apple doing anything to fix this software? This is a real
black eye for the company and a huge frustration for those of us
who had hoped to have software that gave us uniformity among all
our devices.
...and who can I write or call at Apple that will listen to what I
or anyone else has to say about these problems. Five months later
is anyone still listening and working to fix these problems? I haven't
seen a MobileMe update in quite some time.
