Just tried to log into the Apple store online (in UK), to check everything for when I buy the iPhone 6 (hopefully). Bought numerous items in past, iPads, iPhones etc.

However it stated "your password has expired". Isn't this password the same as the App Store or iTunes on a Mac or iPhone? As I'm still allowed to buy apps and music etc?

Bit confused as to which password now. If I change it, and it is the same as the iTunes/App Store then I'll have to change all the iPads, iPhones, Mac, Apple TV in the house.

Thanks

Not sure what it means by expired, I've never seen that before although I would guess it wants you to reset and change your password. You can use the same Apple ID for all apple services.

it's possible that someone attempted to hack your account and changed your password, but didn't confirm it, so the temporary change was reset or it's some form of phishing scam.

either way you need to get to the root of it ...and only enter your details on a confirmed genuine Apple site, not one from a link.

Generally, if your iCloud email ID is the same as your iTunes account, and they're both iCloud accounts (.mac/.me/.icloud), the password should be identical. That's the case for me, as I use an old .mac account for all my purchases.
