Given the many computing needs for everyone in this day and age, is the moniker 'Pro' too ambiguous?

For example, is it there to:
- identify the 'professional' end users
- identify the 'differences' between the computer line up between low spec and high spec machines
Or something completely else?

"Pro" is ridiculously subjective. It's very ambiguous and doesn't mean anything concrete, so I wouldn't lose much sleep over the sociological implications of the term.

Apple generally add the Pro moniker to differentiate between lower and higher spec devices. Simple as that.

Hope this helped. :)

I do not think the main difference between consumer and professional is merely specs. It also *had* to do with expandibility, price, size&weight and design.
