I think this is one of those silly questions that I just need answered.

Arn has been my god this past week for ALWAYS providing me with the latest iPhone stories, and I really appreciate it.

But what I would like to know, are you getting one yourself? What are your thoughts on it?

Yes... I'm getting an iPhone. I'll be standing in line too. :)

I was at the MWSF keynote and reaction in the crowd was jaw-dropping excitement when Jobs showed off the iPhone for the first time. I think it looks amazing still.

This is just the first product with Multitouch OS X. I'm sure there's going to be more, so I think the iPhone represents the first of these.

I know some people are sick of the iPhone stories, but I do think the iPhone is going to shape Apple's future a lot. The iPod was nice... but it very much was just an appliance, like a toaster. The iPhone seems to have more depth to it, so I'm excited to see where it goes.

Arn is right. For any of you that weren't at MWSF, I have to say that it was an experience unlike anything else i've ever seen. Everyone there was completely awe-struck. Even though a lot of the astonishment has worn off since then, I would have to think that just about everyone who remembers what it was like to see the iPhone at MWSF can't wait to get their hands on one.

I'm definitely getting one, question is when.

arn,

for those of us who are excited but still somewhat financially thrifty when it comes to gadgets, do you think getting a rev. A iPhone is a good idea. This is not a notebook or desktop with the if you wait for the next best there is another around the corner argument. This is the initial product launch and while yes I did have a 5GB iPod when they first came out, I am concerned that the iPhone may be a product worth waiting for the first size jump (hopefully 8,12 or 8,16 GB sizes) also allowing Apple to correct any QA issues and possibly address concerns we have already heard on call quality, speakerphone, etc.

Your opinion?

I simply don't want to be buying a replacement iPhone every 12-18 months. Or should I still expect to with a $600 phone?

that is my issue right there. eventhough i use my ipod on a day to day basis i'm worried about music quality and other things. i really want the iphone to be a replacement for my treo and ipod. i just don't think it is quite there yet. i know it is revolutionary but man 600 bucks for a phone. that is what i keep telling myself.

Hey Arn:

I appreciate your diligent posting of iPhone news.

I hope you will be able to get your hands on the iphone soon!

You deserve it.

I think if you are cash-tight for the iPhone, you shold probably just wait until people start getting them and you can use one yourself in person and then make the decision.

The question's going to become whether or not its worth it to you to pay up now. I fully expect I'll probably end up getting another iPhone in 12-18months. When watching the tour video, it became apparent how much the iPhone is an extension of the iLife suite... photos, music etc...

That's what I'm doing. Can I afford to buy one tomorrow? Sure. I won't, though. I do need a new phone pretty bad, but I'm not in any rush. I'll wait a couple weeks or so until I've played around with one for a bit before I take the plunge. I also really want to make sure it works with my car (a Prius) before I buy one- that's very important to me (I really don't see why it wouldn't work, though).

arn do you ever get creeped out?

I mean you have a whole thread dedicated to asking whether or not you will get an iPhone!

I would be creeped out!
