I've had the phone on for 5 1/2 hours from a full charge last night, and I just got a 20% left warning message? Might it have been because I jailbroke it twice last night to get the installer app on it? What is the recommended first time full charge? And when charging does itunes have to be opened or any usb port is fine. Seems I'll be charging this thing way more than I expected. Blackberry used to make it a good 10-12 hours before it needed a charge and that was with me chatting on messenger all day. I'm also thinking the web based messenger since it kept searching for a connection which I believe is done intentionally was also putting stress on the battery, so I went back to fringe if that makes sense. Any input would be appreciated.

My battery lasts all day. I talk some and text all day. I also use the internet a lot. When you aren't using it make sure it's locked. Having the screen on all day will drain the bettery quick.

Constant internet use will yield roughly 5-6 hours out of the device.

10-12 is typical if usage is music/calls/text/internet combined. Anything internet or screen intensive is going to drain the battery faster.

IIRC, one or two of the jailbreak apps were causing battery drains. I can't remember which ones, or what the fix was, but there were a few threads about it a while ago...Not sure if that's the case by itself, but if one app is running and sucking down more power than it needs that would do it.

I would restore it and use it without the jailbreak for a few days; if your battery life improves then you need to look at what you installed. If it still sucks, then take it to an Apple store.

Oh, and are you looking at the usage statistics in settings? those will tell you exactly how long since the last full charge, and how many hours of use you got.

How do I check what other processes are running on the phone? Something that really tells me whats going on? All I installed was the installer, cydia, and fring. Something tells me cydia maybe? I'm not gonna go nuts as I can charge it at work and have a car charger, but dont wanna ruin the battery from so much charging? Now this started for you guys with 1.1.4, I'm on tmo by the way. Is there a way, they may fix this bug in the near future? For us guys with hacked phones ;)
