I can't seem to get Calendar to work with Google Calendar, I keep getting this error in the internet accounts preferences accompanied by an error in the console log. I'm running Mavericks 10.9.5.
I've also downloaded a copy of BusyCal to see if it works and it doesn't! It's also not working when I create a new user account.

Mail works fine btw.

It is working for me in 10.9, but I don’t use Calendar with my Google account.

Have you tried enabling “Less Secure Apps” in your Google Account settings?

Hey man! I actually emailed you before seeing your reply, what are the chances!
Anyways, yes "Less Secure Apps" are enabled. And squid is alive and kicking.

EDIT: I'm also getting a wall of errors every time I open keychain access, does this have anything to do with it?

Don't know, frankly. You said you imported a Keychain from a modern version of macOS, right? And were having a cosmetic glitch (likely) as a result? It wouldn't surprise me if that was the cause of those console logs, too—Apple has clearly made changes to the database format over the years. Whether that's related to the Calendar, no idea, Calendar clearly does read credentials from the Keychain...

Those secd errors only occur when launching Keychain Access and turns out, that process has something to do with iCloud Keychain, so I don't know.
As for Calendar it's still not working, and I've kinda given up.
