Is camera really 2 MP?

ok so i took a pic with my i phone and e-mailed it to my computer and checked the file size and it says its info like this 480-640 96dpi bit depth 24 and it says its only 64kb????? Can somebody explain why the pic seems so small? did it schrink the pic when i e mailed it? HEEELP!!

the iphone probably does that so that it isn't sending a really big pic, especially if you're on edge. importing iphone pics to my computer gives me 1200x1600 resolution images, translating to 1.92 megapixel files.

Pics e-mailed from the phone are reduced from 1200 X 1600 for faster sending over edge. I'm not a fan of it either.

ok thanks guys! so i just use the USB cable to import the pics onto my pc or mac currect? im ganna try to e mail the pics using wi-fi and see if it still down sizes the file size.
