Hello all,

For those who have an iPhone - can you tell me if cingular's network is really that slow? I know there are alot of reviews about slow web browsing speeds but are those claims legit? I really would like to hear your experiences. In addition please let me know regarding call quality and reception in general.

I'm in NYC btw so it would be great if those in the tri state area would let me know as well.

Thanks!

I live outside of Chicago in the suburbs.

I use my wireless, but i switched over on EDGE to see what is was like, and being completely honest, it was fast.

Not as fast as wifi, but it took maybe 5 seconds to load the myspace home page.

Thanks - how about call quality and reception?

I wonder why all the reviews saying how slow it is then?

I have been a business user for two years on the Cingular/AT&T network and I can say without a doubt it is awful. It was over-subscribed before the iphone release and is getting worse by the day. Edge performance is inconsistent and slow most of the time during peak hours, but improves later at night because the default mail client on most Cingular phones prevents mail updates during the evening.

I can't wait for all the iphone users to migrate to their network so I can move off of it to a similarly unsubscribed network AND be able to utilize full 3G broadband service on my phone.
